Kunle Afolayan’s movie, Anikulapo, has won the ‘Best Indigenous Language Yoruba (Movie/TV series) at the ongoing Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, AMVCA, an annual accolade presented by MultiChoice recognizing outstanding achievement in television and film.
Aníkúlápó released on 30 September 2022 was a Nigerian epic fantasy film distributed by Netflix.
The movie shot in Oyo State stars Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Sola Sobowale,Hakeem Kae-Kazim and Taiwo Hassan.

According to Afolayan the movie (Anikulapo) work was a “Game of Thrones recreated in Nigeria but with a better representation of Yoruba culture.
The ninth edition of AMVCA currenly holding in Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos is being aired live on all Africa Magic channels.
