April 2025 movies: G20 and other action-packed movies

This April 2025 movie recommendation has got my heart because of the lineup of movies on this list. They are everything in action in different dimensions. I have handpicked four movies which has garnered buzz for their release. One of which I am most excited for is, G20 starring Viola Davis.

G2 0, You S5, Havoc and The Amateur movie poster

1. G20

We have had different Hollywood actors act as the President of the United States, but Viola Davis is captivating. The recent black female POTUS I have seen in a movie is Angela Basett in Zero Day. The trailer gives you a sense of what the G20 movie is about. During the G20 summit, an explosion happened, so the movie will be about finding out how the security breach happened.

This POTUS is not just a diplomatic leader but a fighter.

‘Terrorists take over the G20 summit with President Sutton, bringing her governing and military experience to defend her family, company, and the world.’- IMDb

2. The Amateur

Rami Malek plays a CIA operative whose wife was killed. However, his bosses refuse to take action about it so he takes the law into his hands. I guess we know how this might turn out, but we are expecting to see a creative turnout of this cliche line up of events. Why is the title of the movie amateur?

‘When his supervisors at the CIA refuse to take action after his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack, a decoder takes matters into his own hands.’- IMDb.

3. You (S5)

We have been down a long ride with Joe Goldberg, seeing him escape the hands of the law despite his murderous exploits. Will he continue to escape the hands of the law? What epic nemesis will catch up to him to make him pay for what he has done? Now that he is back to where it all started, will this be the end of Joe Goldberg, or will he get saved just before he lands in jail?

4. Havoc( Netflix)

Tom Hardy on this as a detective has captured my hearrt. We have got a suspect whose father is in denial of him being involved in the crime. Through the trailer, we can see a messy turnout of events but one thing we are promised is that we have got a burst of action.

After a drug deal gone wrong, a bruised detective must fight his way through the criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.
