New Super Eagles invitee Tolu Arokodare continued his fine form, netting his 17th goal of the season in Genk’s 2-1 victory over Union St.Gilloise.
The 24-year-old lethal striker played an important role in sealing the win at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday.

Genk entered the match with confidence, boasting a nine-game unbeaten run and a comfortable lead over second-placed Club Brugge. However, Union St.Gilloise, on a four-game winning run, provided a tough challenge. Both sides battled intensely in the first half, but neither could break the deadlock before halftime.

Hyun-Gyu Oh extended the advantage in the 83rd minute after a selfless assist from Noah Adedeji-Sternberg. Union St.Gilloise responded through Anouar Ait El Hadj few moments later, but Genk held on for the win.
With 17 league goals, Arokodare is on course to finish as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer. His closest competitors trail by three goals heading into the final match of the regular season.
Genk, already crowned regular-season winners, will now compete in the championship playoffs alongside Club Brugge, Anderlecht, Union St.Gilloise, Antwerp, and Gent.
