Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is set to make a return to active football action after a long injury layoff.
Jesus was seen training with the rest of the Arsenal squad on Wednesday and reports indicate he could travel with the Arsenal squad for the Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon on Thursday night.
The 25-year-old Brazilian has not featured for the Gunners since before the 2022 FIFA World Cup due to a knee injury. He has been injured since he played for Brazil against Cameroon in Qatar.
However, the former Manchester City player has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks. On Saturday, the energetic forward joined in the post-game warm down with the substitutes following Arsenal’s 3-2 comeback win against Bournemouth.

Moving forward, he joined the full training with the squad on Wednesday at London Colney. This latest development has definitely seen Arsenal fans anticipate his return to the field of play.
Interestingly, Jesus is now likely to join his other teammates as they travel to Lisbon. Their flight is expected to depart London on Wednesday. Meanwhile, it is not yet clear whether coach Mikel Arteta will include the player in the actual matchday squad.
Whatever the case about his matchday selection, Jesus’ presence alone in Lisbon will be some good news for Arsenal and their fans who has long awaited his return.
