North London club Arsenal have announced that Spanish manager Mikel Arteta has penned a new contract running until 2027.
The 42-year-old’s contract was set to expire in 2025, but Arsenal have secured his future for two more years. The Gunners have ensured their former player will stay until at least 2027.
“I feel extremely proud, very excited and I’m looking forward to what is coming next. I’m proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club,” Arteta said.

“Together with the players and everyone at the club, we are looking forward to the coming years, with our supporters, who have emotionally transformed the club and the team.
“Our supporters have transformed individuals and we are different now. You can tell that we are different and for me, that is down to them. We look forward to continuing the journey together.”
Arsenal have won two of their opening three Premier League matches so far this season, drawing the other one. Their next league test is against north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (14:00 WAT/GMT+1).
