AS Roma has officially parted ways with Daniele De Rossi, ending his role as head coach of the team after only eight months in charge.
According to the Italian club, the change is necessary to quickly steer the squad in a more positive direction.
The decision was made early in the season, giving the team time to regroup and refocus. Roma acknowledged the former player’s commitment and hard work over recent months.

In an official statement on the club’s website, Roma also extended sincere gratitude to De Rossi for his dedication and passion during his time as head coach. The statement says he “remains an integral part of the Giallorossi family and will always be welcomed at the club.”
Daniele De Rossi has failed to win any of the first four league games so far this season. He lost once and drew the remaining three games.
Roma has confirmed further announcements regarding the future leadership of the team will be made in due course.

AS Roma’s Serie A clash with Genoa on Sunday saw the manager sent off for protesting the referee’s calls. It marked the first red card of his managerial career, a momentous and heated debut.
By contrast, his predecessor José Mourinho racked up seven red cards during his two-and-a-half years at Roma.
