Atiku supporters injured in the Gombe rally.

On Monday, the presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar was in Gombe for his political campaign when a fight ensued between the supporters of the Presidential candidate and the kalare boys; a local gang group in the community.

The incident occurred after Atiku left with his entourage through Gate Number Two of Pantami Stadium for Bauchi.

The Kalare boys lay in waiting armed with cutlasses, swords, clubs and other weapons, to pounce on innocent party supporters, who were on their way to their respective houses.

The police, who were manning Gate Number One of the stadium, quickly dispersed a detachment of armed policemen to the second gate to provide security for supporters, who rushed back into the stadium for safety.

According to reports, there were at least three individuals. A bus, a sedan, and a Keke NAPEP were ambushed along Pantami Stadium Road, and all three of their vehicles sustained damage.

A few leaders asserted that they were unaware of the incident. ASP Mahid Abubakar, the Gombe Public Relations Officer, claimed he was at another function and was unable to confirm the tension.

Atiku spoke extensively during the event itself about how to bring peace back to society. He pledged to resolve the terrorist and insecurity problems in the North.

“I will return peace to the state because without peace all these pledges that I made cannot be actualised. I will wipe out Boko Haram. Boko Haram is nothing. We have wiped out Boko Haram in Adamawa, what will stop us from wiping out Boko Haram in Borno or Yobe or anywhere they are in this country? “

The residents of the entire Northeast would have access to power under his watch. He added that he wanted to follow in Tafawa Balewa’s footsteps.
