Popular Yoruba actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely known as Baba Ijesha, has opened up about how his marriage ended in a painful way.
He shared his experience during a podcast session hosted by Biola Adebayo, where he spoke about the events that led to the collapse of his union.
The interview, which was published on March 23, 2026, showed the actor explaining that his marriage began on a peaceful note without any issues or serious disagreements. He said everything was going well between him and his wife in the early stage of their relationship.
Baba Ijesha explained that the situation changed when his wife expressed interest in furthering her education abroad. She told him she wanted to travel to the United Kingdom for a master’s degree, and he fully supported her decision.

He handled the process himself by paying for her flight ticket and assisting with her travel documents, including her visa.
After she relocated, the actor said he later discovered that her trip was not mainly for schooling as she had claimed. He revealed that she had another man and used the opportunity of travelling to reconnect with him.
The discovery came as a shock to him and brought an end to their marriage.

He said the experience left him hurt, as he had trusted her and supported her plans without knowing what she truly intended.
He said: “There was no problem with my marriage from the start. After the wedding, my wife told me she wanted to go for her master’s in the UK. So I bought her ticket, processed her visa, and did everything necessary. She then left Nigeria for the UK. Unknown to me, it was a setup. She had another man she was dating and wanted to go and have fun with.”
