Bagudu receives Qatar delegation, reiterates commitment for enhanced bilateral cooperation


The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, received a delegation from the Qatar Embassy to Nigeria, along with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity Organization, expressing heartfelt gratitude for Qatar’s steadfast friendship and support towards Nigeria.Ā 

Recognising the multifaceted nature of their relationship, Bagudu stated that the visit by Qatar Charity Organisation signifies not only humanitarian assistance but also strengthens the political alliance between the two nations.

Furthermore, Bagudu extended congratulations to Qatar Charity for its remarkable achievements in Nigeria, commending its impactful contributions, particularly in uplifting low-income families and facilitating access to education.Ā

He conveyed deep appreciation for the organisation’s dedicated efforts in the country.

During the discussions, the Minister highlighted the vital role played by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in engaging with technical and developmental partners, with a specific emphasis on laying foundations for sustainable progress.Ā 

With a commitment to transparency and progress, Bagudu stressed the challenges faced in implementing essential reforms, while humbly requesting additional support during this transitional period.

Acknowledging the impact of rising prices due to exchange rate movements, Bagudu outlined proactive measures, including investments in agricultural productivity, aimed at stabilizing prices and bolstering the nation’s economy.

“The Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning is dedicated to advancing shared goals of prosperity and development in collaboration with esteemed partners such as Qatar Charity Organization,” Bagudu affirmed.Ā 

“Today’s discussions underscore the enduring partnership between Nigeria and Qatar, paving the way for continued cooperation and collective progress.”

During the visit, Dr. Ali Bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, Ambassador of Qatar to Nigeria, reiterated the need for enhanced cooperation and unity, emphasising the importance of working together to achieve common goals.Ā 

His call for collaboration resonated deeply with the Ministry’s commitment to fostering productive partnerships for national development.

In his address, Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO/Chairman of Qatar Charity Organization, highlighted the primary purpose of their visit: to engage in meaningful discussions regarding the alignment of their projects with the national plan of the country.Ā
