Speaking during a viral interview with AFRIMMA, Basketmouth cited rising inflation and depreciation of the naira from 1970 till date.

In a viral video, he said ā€œNothing can be done, quote me anywhere. Think about it.

ā€œIn the year I was born 1970, it was one naira to a dollar but now N1600 to 1dollar.

ā€œThere was never a time from 1970 that the dollar crashed and went back to what it was. It has never happened. Every time it changes, all the conversations you will be hearing are ā€˜E go better, E go better.ā€™ it is getting worse.

ā€œWhat are the policies? And what have they done? Now 100 pages of passport has been increased to N100,000. I suspect that our government planned to make the Nigerian population suffer. So that when they suffer they can now want to japa, then they will increase the price of the passport to make more money,ā€ said the actor.

ā€œIt is not like I have given up hope, Iā€™m hopeful maybe one day, the country will be better. Let all believe in that pipe dream. Itā€™s overā€, he sarcastically added.
