Basketmouth urges producers to portray Nigerian culture in movies

Nigerian comedian and movie actor, Bright Okpocha who is better known as Basketmouth has admonished movie producers to portray the reality of the nation in their movies.

According to the renowned comedian, most movie producers do not instil Nigerian cultural values into their production.

In an interview with Hip TV, Basketmouth claimed that the filmmakers wasted opportunities to showcase Nigeriaā€™s culture positively.

He said, ā€œI believe that we still have the opportunity to get it right. But we had a great opportunity to showcase our culture and most of the filmmakers blew it up. They just ruined that great chance because I see epic movies and they look like stage plays.

ā€œWhen I was seeing most of the epic movies, I was disappointed.

ā€œYou guys blew up a great opportunity but letā€™s hope we still have another chance to strike at it.

ā€œIā€™m sorry, only very few movies have impressed me so far. I believe that we can do more.ā€
