Bayelsa State Pastor allegedly kills partner over N50k debt


News Round The Clock recently gathered a 27-year-old Bayelsa state pastor murdered his partner over a N50,000 (fifty thousand naira) debt.

Police operatives in Bayelsa State have arrested a pastor, identified as Joseph Fekala, 27, for allegedly killing his 26-year-old girlfriend, Kate Ogwoh, in Yenagoa, the stateā€™s capital.

Fekala, said to be a youth pastor in a Pentecostal church in Yenagoa, allegedly strangled Kate to death after which he buried her in a shallow grave in his bedroom.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at the Okaka suburb of Yenagoa metropolis on Friday, July 29, 2022.

According to The Nation, the suspect allegedly killed Kate over a N50,000 debt he was owing for clothes she sold to him.

ā€œShe used to sell clothes. The suspect was owing her N50,000 and she went to get the money from him yesterday (Thursday).

No one heard from her until this Friday morning when her mother went looking for her at the manā€™s house and saw the shallow grave, thatā€™s when she raised the alarm.

Until her death, she was a member of Christ Embassy Church in Yenagoa while Joseph was a youth pastor in a Pentecostal church. He isnā€™t a ā€˜Yahoo boyā€™ as being speculated in some quarters,ā€ a source said.

Bayelsa Police spokesman SP Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect the suspect was arrested following a tip off by neighbors on July 29, 2022, at about 0800 hours.
