Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has announced plans to establish a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to empowering the girl-child.

The reality TV star made this known in Lagos after receiving an additional ₦2 million cheque from BetKing, a prize she earned during one of the in-house challenges sponsored by the betting company.

Speaking at the event, Imisi said the reward was both “overwhelming and inspiring,” adding that her personal experiences as a young girl had fueled her passion to support others.

“I am overwhelmed; I am happy and grateful; I feel good, excited and delighted. I just feel good seeing all these working in my favour,” she said.

“As a lady, I know what it was growing up. So, for me, I would like to do something for a girl child. I am not clear yet, but something like a foundation for the girl child, because that has always been my desire, and I think I really want to do that.

“Things are still looking like a dream to me now, but I really want to do that. While growing up as a girl child, it was a very dramatic time for me.”

The BBNaija winner, who has had some experience in acting before joining the show, credited the platform for giving her career a significant boost.

“I am happy. I have been an actress for a while now, but Big Brother really gave me the exposure, and I am grateful. It means a whole lot to me,” she said.

During the presentation, BetKing’s Head of Marketing, Nengi Akinola, explained that the brand’s collaboration with BBNaija was designed to reward housemates while introducing its exclusive games to a larger audience.

“We released some exclusive games this season, for instance, Danfo Lagos, a take on our popular transportation buses. We also released JJ Ball X, a collaboration with Jay Jay Okocha. It’s a game where the avatar has to kick the ball,” Akinola said.

“Recently, we released a game called Film House, where a female character is trying to do certain poses in a bid to cash out on time. In essence, we had certain exclusive games that we wanted to showcase to an entertainment audience, and Big Brother provided us the opportunity to reach those audiences. This is our first time collaborating with Big Brother.”

She added that BetKing was still assessing the value of the partnership to decide on future participation.

“The possibilities are endless. We are analysing the value that we have gotten from this, and when we start planning for next year, we will see what is in the cart for us,” Akinola noted.
