In church on Sunday, I listened as some members divulged the beautiful things God has done for them.

Some testifiers spoke about how they recently got international jobs; others disclosed how their lifelong aspiration of leaving the country. Several others came up and talked about how they found true love and have managed to build a beautiful family.

Notable other individuals came along to reveal other significant God has done for them.

Oh well, here I am, a backbencher, a benchwarmer and young man who is patiently waiting for his own “blow” moment.

The only testimony I have is a heart of thanksgiving and a leg to trek from Oshodi underbridge to my church around Ilupeju in Lagos state. Since I have no vehicle of my own, I have to walk underneath both rain and sunshine, nothing really special happens in my life.

Hmm, no love story as well.

The last girl I asked out on a date failed to show up; she has since blacklisted my contact after I tried dialing her several times to know if everything was ideal on her side. Unfortunately, I was blocked.

The heartbreak doesn’t end there, applying to study overseas has proved abortive. “We are Sorry…” has more often-than-not become a spam message in my Gmail, sad to say the least.

Sometimes, losing can demean the esteem of an individual regardless of how optimistic you claim to be. It could make the most boisterous person become gloomy, or simply enter into a depressing state.

Just as I was drowning in my own self-pity, reality dawned on me. The words of light turned on in my head, hey, I am actually privileged.

What if I have failed to be appreciative of God’s goodness upon my life.

The greatest miracle and testimony of any human is waking up. The most quintessential and underrated miracle of all time is actually getting up in the morning to pursue our dreams and aspiration.

I have so many testimonies to share, perhaps, it won’t be termed “massive” by fellow Christians and other humans. However, it is unique to me.

Understand that other people’s testimony is a reminder that your own goodness is around the corner. Believe, beautiful things are coming. Celebrate the victory of others, however, remember that God is in the neighborhood, be grateful.
