Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has appointed music icon Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.
The announcement was made during a public event, where the governor expressed excitement about having the musician take on this new task.
He said, “Let me thank you very uniquely for supporting my administration and for preparing me for 2027, and I feel it will not be out of place at all—because you are a guru of entertainment. Once you say 2Face, people start dancing, even without a song. So we are happy you’re here. On behalf of the state government and our very good people, we want to give you some more responsibility.
“Plus the ones you have been doing, because you have the capacity to do some more and help us chart the way forward—to improve other people’s lives and to gain more from your wisdom and advice as well. So I’m pleased to announce that we will make you a Technical Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment and Community Outreach.”
2Baba, who’s from Otukpo in the state is known for his popular song ‘African Queen’ released in 2004.
