Nigerian forward Blessing Nkor made her debut for Deportivo La Coruña Women on Sunday, contributing to a crucial away victory.

This victory followed consecutive defeats against Real Sociedad and Tenerife, making a win against Real Betis vital to their resurgence.
The first half was a tightly contested affair, with neither side able to create clear-cut opportunities. Both teams struggled to break each other down, resulting in a goalless stalemate at halftime.
However, Deportivo broke the deadlock almost immediately after the restart. Paula Gutiérrez capitalised on an early second-half opportunity, giving the visitors a vital lead in the 47th minute.
The momentum shifted firmly in Deportivo’s favor as Ainhoa Marín doubled the advantage just ten minutes later. With Real Betis unable to respond, the two-goal cushion allowed Deportivo to dictate the pace for the rest of the match.
Nkor was brought on in the 87th minute to replace Marín as Deportivo sought to close out the game. Despite her limited minutes, the Nigerian forward made her presence felt and demonstrated her intent to earn a bigger role in future matches.
Deportivo’s well-earned win marked a significant step forward, as they registered successive victories for the first time this season. Their confident display not only secured all three points but also moved them five points clear of the relegation zone.
This result propelled Deportivo to 15th place in the standings, level on 15 points with 14th-placed Real Betis. With confidence growing, they will now focus on their next test against bottom-placed Valencia on February 1.
Blessing Nkor will be eager to use that opportunity to impress further and potentially score her first goal for the club. Deportivo, on the other hand, will aim to maintain their momentum and continue climbing the league table.
