Bodø/Glimt have qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time, marking a historic milestone for Norwegian football and the northern club’s rise.
They secured the achievement at Aspmyra Stadion, a compact arena with a capacity of 8,270, located more than 150 miles inside the Arctic Circle.
The stadium fits with artificial turf and undersoil heating since 2006. This ensures year-round playability despite sub-zero winter conditions and harsh coastal weather.

UEFA have formally confirmed the club’s inclusion in the league phase, which placed Bodø/Glimt among Europe’s elite after years of domestic dominance in Norway.

Norwegian media described the qualification as unprecedented, since no club from northern Norway had previously reached the Champions League’s principal competition.
The team have drawn global attention in recent seasons for its attacking style, famously defeating AS Roma 6–1 in the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2021.
Supporters at Aspmyra Stadion celebrated with giant yellow toothbrushes, a distinctive fan tradition that had become symbolic of the club’s identity on European nights.
