Ahead of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, Nigeria has received a boost as FIFA finally cleared Leicester City striker, Ademola Lookman to play for the three times African champions.
Since Lookman has not been capped at competitive senior level for England, he is eligible to feature for the Super Eagles in the World Cup playoff game against Ghana Black stars.
The striker was born in London to Nigerian parents and raised in Peckham.
Lookman has now followed in former Arsenal and Everton winger, Alex Iwobi’s footstep in representing England at youth level before going on to represent Nigeria at the senior level.

Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) chief scout Tunde Adelakun in an interview with BBC Sport Africa in November said: ‘We are aware of Lookman’s desire to play for us and I have spoken to him as well. However, there is a process to it.
‘After this process, then comes the consideration and decision of the head coach (Gernot Rohr) on whether or when he deems it fit to get him involved.’
