Borussia Dortmund ban Jobe Bellingham’s parents from dressing room after heated clash

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly barred the parents of midfielder Jobe Bellingham from entering the team’s dressing room after a dramatic incident during a Bundesliga match.

According to reports from German media, the situation escalated when Bellingham’s parents confronted manager Edin Terzić following their son’s substitution at half-time.

The tense exchange allegedly took place in the tunnel, where the family expressed displeasure over what they believed was unfair treatment of the 19-year-old midfielder.

Security personnel and club officials stepped in immediately to defuse the situation and prevent it from spiraling further.

Consequently, Dortmund’s hierarchy decided to impose restrictions on parental access in order to safeguard discipline within the squad and reinforce the authority of the coaching staff.

Despite the incident, insiders emphasise that Bellingham is still regarded as an important part of the club’s long-term project. However, they made it clear that interference in football matters from external parties — even family members — will not be tolerated.

The incident has divided opinion among fans and pundits in Germany. On one hand, some argue that the youngster needs consistent patience and more minutes on the pitch to properly flourish. On the other hand, many believe the coaching staff’s authority must be upheld to maintain order within the competitive squad.

Youngster still finding his place

Jobe, who joined Dortmund from Sunderland in 2025, has shown glimpses of his potential but is still fighting for a regular starting role. Although competition for midfield spots remains fierce, the club’s faith in his long-term development is evident.

For now, the teenager will need to channel his focus entirely on performances on the pitch, while his parents will have to support him from the stands like every other fan.
