The Federal Government has commenced the payment of the new ₦77,000 monthly allowance to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This marks a significant increase from the previous ₦33,000 stipend and comes months after the initial announcement.
NRTC can confirm that some corps members have started receiving bank alerts reflecting the revised payment. The allowance increment, first announced in September 2024, had faced delays, sparking concerns among affected youths.

Netizens have also started sharing pictorial evidences on social media to authenticate the payment of the allowance.

The payment is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of corps members nationwide, many of whom have struggled with the rising cost of living. While some are celebrating the development, others are still awaiting confirmation of their payments.
Meanwhile, the government has assured that any backlog of unpaid stipends will be settled. The full implementation of the new allowance structure signals progress in addressing economic challenges faced by young Nigerians.
