The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Wednesday night jointly decided to suspend the ongoing strike.
The National Deputy Vice-President of the TUC, Tommy Etim attributed the decision to a constructive meeting held between the union and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The strike was halted following the unions meeting that lasted nearly an hour, which occurred after the National Security Agency (NSA) meeting, during which different affiliates and state chapters assessed the earlier meeting’s outcomes.

News Round The Clock (NRTC) previously conveyed that, on Wednesday afternoon, labour leaders met with Ribadu, along with the Minister of Labour, Simon Lalong, and Minister of State Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha at the NSA office.
The closed-door meeting aimed to address the unions concerns, notably the recent assault on NLC National President, Joe Ajaero.
In response, the NSA confirmed the apprehension of those responsible for the attack.
