Popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, alongside three other actors, has passed away after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra state while returning from movie locations.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, hours after Junior Pope shared a video of himself on a boat praying to arrive at his destination safely.
In the video, the actor said this is the challenge actors face to please their fans.
He wrote, “See me lamenting… The risks we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket… Na wah oooo… Who does that?”

Confirming the deaths in an Instagram post, popular filmmaker, Samuel Olatunji wrote, “Four actors, including Jnr Pope, fell into the Anam River on their way to a location, and their bodies have been recovered. What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
The remains of the deceased actor, along with those of other victims involved in the incident, have been subsequently found.
