The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a unanimous judgment delivered on Friday by a five-member panel, the apex court ruled that issues concerning the leadership or membership of a political party are internal affairs and should not be determined by a court.

The court set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, which had, on December 20, 2024, upheld a Federal High Court ruling that removed Anyanwu from his position.
The Supreme Court further held that the Federal High Court in Enugu lacked the jurisdiction to hear the case filed by Aniagwu Emmanuel, making its earlier judgment invalid.
