Buhari mourns victims of stampedes in Oyo, Anambra, Abuja

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives caused by stampedes in Oyo State, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Anambra State.

NRTC gathered that the incidents, which claimed multiple lives left communities across the affected areas in mourning.

In a statement signed Garba Shehu on Sunday, Buhari conveyed his condolences to President Bola Tinubu and expressed sympathy to Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, and Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT.

He urged these leaders to extend his heartfelt condolences and words of support to the bereaved families and friends of the victims. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incidents.

The former president also expressed solidarity with the Catholic community, which was particularly affected by the tragedies.

On the occasion of Christmas, Buhari extended warm greetings to all Nigerians, encouraging them to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

He further conveyed his heartfelt wishes for a prosperous and peaceful New Year in 2025, saying, ā€œMay this year bring us all immense prosperity, peace, and good health.ā€

Buhari reiterated his concern for the well-being of Nigerians and his commitment to fostering unity during challenging times.
