Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy becomes the first African artist to hit the one billion stream mark on the global streaming platform, Audiomack.
The online music platform announced that the Grammy award-winner made the history via its Twitter handle on Thursday.
Audiomack tweeted: “Congratulations #Burnaboy on becoming the first African Artist to hit 1 billion Audiomack Streams! šš¶š”

The āLast Lastā crooner achieved the feat with the combined streams of his last three albums and singles in recent years.
Burna Boy had become one of the biggest Afrobeats stars in the world since he gained prominence after the release of āLike to Partyā, the hit single from his debut album āL.I.F.Eā in 2013.
The 31-year-old āTwice As Tallā ā his fifth album, won the āBest World Music Albumā category at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Burna Boy was ranked the African artiste with the highest revenue from a single concert in April as well as sold out an 80,000-capacity stadium in London becoming the first African artiste to do so as a solo artist.
The singer who had performed and sold out some notable venues across the globe also thrilled football lovers at the 2023 UEFA Champions won by Manchester City after beating Inter Milan 1 to nil.
