Grammy-winning artist, Damini ā€˜Burna Boyā€™ Ogulu, has opened up about the reason behind his abrupt departure from the stage during his performance at the Greater Lagos Countdown 2025.

News Round The Clock (NRTC) gathered that the ā€˜Last Lastā€™ hitmaker became the subject of widespread discussion after an unexpected encounter with a fan disrupted his set.

PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop following exposure to traumatic events, often leaving individuals highly sensitive to similar stressors.

Burna Boy explained that his decision to leave the stage was prompted by an overzealous fanā€™s attempt to grab him, which startled him and activated his PTSD.

Burna Boy wrote: “It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10 minutes and did almost an hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when Iā€™m performing.

ā€œI had an amazing time with Lagos State last night. Donā€™t jump on my stage like that! I got PTSD. I love you all. Happy New Year.ā€

In addition to Burna Boy, other Nigerian A-list artistes, including Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Niniola, Olamide, Adewale Ayuba, Runtown, Bnxn, 9ice, Seyi Vibez, and many others, graced the event held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
