Grammy-winning artist, Damini āBurna Boyā Ogulu, has opened up about the reason behind his abrupt departure from the stage during his performance at the Greater Lagos Countdown 2025.
News Round The Clock (NRTC) gathered that the āLast Lastā hitmaker became the subject of widespread discussion after an unexpected encounter with a fan disrupted his set.
Addressing the backlash from fans and netizens, the 33-year-old took to his Instagram story yesterday to disclose that he suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which was triggered by the incident.
PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop following exposure to traumatic events, often leaving individuals highly sensitive to similar stressors.
Burna Boy explained that his decision to leave the stage was prompted by an overzealous fanās attempt to grab him, which startled him and activated his PTSD.
Burna Boy wrote: “It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10 minutes and did almost an hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when Iām performing.

In addition to Burna Boy, other Nigerian A-list artistes, including Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Niniola, Olamide, Adewale Ayuba, Runtown, Bnxn, 9ice, Seyi Vibez, and many others, graced the event held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Organiaed by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the event dazzled fans with mind-blowing performances during the Greater Lagos Countdown, marking the transition into the New Year.
On social media, fans described the event as an unforgettable night filled with music, excitement, and celebration.
