Rahman Jago, a close associate of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy, has stated that the music star has embraced Islam.
Speculation about Burna Boy’s religious affiliation began weeks ago after the artiste, who was raised in a Christian home, mentioned during a podcast interview that he had embraced Islam “at some point” while searching for truth. Since then, conversations around his faith have continued to circulate online.
Fueling the discussion further, Rahman Jago recently shared a video on his X account showing Burna Boy praising Allah alongside him and a group of men in what appeared to be a bar setting. The clip was captioned, “Allahu Akbar.”

The video caught the attention of Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, who reposted it. Ahmad remarked that the singer was “seen so so happy” and prayed that Allah would make his journey in Islam easy for him.
In the comment section, a social media user asked Ahmad whether Burna Boy had indeed converted. Ahmad replied that some individuals close to the singer had indicated that he had converted, although Burna Boy himself had not publicly confirmed it.
Responding directly under the exchange, Rahman Jago quoted the curious fan and offered a definitive statement about the singer’s faith.
“He converted. He is now a Muslim,” Jago wrote.
