CAF unveils Super Falcons’ 2024 WAFCON schedule in Morocco

Nigeria’s Super Falcons now know their path to a potential 10th continental crown, as CAF has officially announced the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) schedule.

The nine-time champions will play all three of their group B matches at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.

According to the confirmed schedule, the Falcons kick off their campaign against Tunisia on Sunday, July 6. This opener will be crucial for head coach Justine Madugu and his squad, who are determined to start strong in pursuit of continental glory.

Four days later, on July 10, the West Africans will clash with Botswana in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Given Botswana’s rapid growth in women’s football, the Super Falcons will need to be at their tactical best. More importantly, this second group game could determine Nigeria’s momentum heading into the final group match.

WAFCON 2024 a three-week tournament

The 2024 edition of the biennial tournament is set to run from Saturday, July 5 to Saturday, July 26, 2025. Hosted by Morocco for the second consecutive time, the competition is expected to be one of the most fiercely contested yet.

It’s also worth noting that South Africa’s Banyana Banyana enter this tournament as defending champions, which further intensifies the battle for supremacy.
