Following the security challenges afflicting the North-West, North-Central, and various other parts of the nation, Major General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to restoring peace in these troubled regions.
During a gathering at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, Musa conveyed this commitment to Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, and his Plateau State counterpart, Caleb Muftwang.
In his address to Governor Muftwang and his delegation, the CDS stressed that the nation’s armed forces “are resolute and devoted to establishing peace in Plateau.”
A statement released by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the defence spokesman, reported that Musa expressed condolences to Muftwang regarding the senseless killings in Plateau.
Musa emphasized the necessity of understanding the root causes of the problems and involving all relevant stakeholders in the search for a lasting solution to the crisis plaguing the state.

Governor Muftwang, in turn, extended congratulations to the CDS on his appointment, describing Musa as an unwavering professional.
He asserted that Musa’s assumption of the role of CDS “comes at a critical time of worsening security challenges,” expressing unwavering confidence in Musa’s ability to address the security issues in Plateau by drawing upon his wealth of experience.
Upon receiving Governor Lawal of Zamfara, the CDS reassured him of the military’s preparedness to provide the necessary security assistance to the state.
He expressed condolences to the people of Zamfara following the recent attacks, pledging to ensure that the troops remain highly capable and enhancing the synergy between the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) and other security agencies.
Governor Lawal emphasized the need for increased funding for the armed forces, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts between local communities and security agencies within the state.
