Chelsea produced one of their most complete performances of the season as teenage sensation Estevao Willian overshadowed fellow prodigy Lamine Yamal in a commanding 3-0 Champions League victory.
The 18-year-old Brazilian tormented Barcelona from the first whistle and delivered a breathtaking solo goal that threw the home fans into jubilation.
Although the visitors battled early, the night quickly spiralled out of their control. Barcelona’s hopes collapsed when captain Ronald Araujo received a second yellow card moments before half-time.
Chelsea were already ahead through a scrambled own goal forced by Jules Kounde during a sharp set-piece routine. And with momentum shifting, the hosts grew more confident against their short-handed opponents.
Estevao’s brilliance sparks Stamford Bridge as Barcelona fall apart
Estevao stole the show with a moment of individual flair that electrified the crowd. He glided past Pau Cubarsi, held off Alejandro Balde and smashed his effort beyond Joan Garcia with remarkable composure.

Meanwhile, Yamal struggled to influence the contest and was substituted to mocking jeers from the home support. Chelsea continued to dominate as the second half unfolded.

Substitute Liam Delap ended his long goal drought by finishing coolly after Enzo Fernandez broke the offside trap and squared the ball. It was a deserved reward for the striker, who had been pushing for minutes without consistent end product.
Barcelona, however, rarely threatened after the interval. Ferran Torres missed their best earlier chance before making way for Marcus Rashford, who could not change the momentum. With every wave of Chelsea pressure, the visitors retreated deeper and absorbed relentless attacks.
Chelsea’s rising confidence fuels growing title ambition
This victory lifted Chelsea into the top eight of the Champions League league phase, thereby reducing the risk of a February play-off tie. Confidence around Stamford Bridge continues to grow, even if players avoid public declarations of ambition. Privately, discussions about chasing trophies have become increasingly common within the squad.
The BlueCo project, backed by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, is beginning to show clear progress. Over £1.5bn has been invested across three seasons, and young stars like Moises Caicedo and Fernandez are flourishing. Marc Cucurella has also emerged as one of Europe’s standout left-backs this term.
Estevao’s impact has been vital, especially with Cole Palmer sidelined for more than two months. Chelsea’s run of five wins and one draw has created strong momentum heading into Sunday’s clash with leaders Arsenal. And while Arsenal remain favourites, Chelsea’s form suggests the title conversation may not be as closed as many believe.
