Several high-profile Premier League and European stars have been omitted from their clubs’ Champions League squads as UEFA confirmed the official lists for the group stage.
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus remained unavailable after a serious knee injury sustained in January, with recovery unlikely before 2026.
Chelsea left out Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, Axel Disasi, and Ben Chilwell. With the club restricted to a 24-man squad, Chelsea also excluded their new signing Facundo Buonanotte.
Liverpool dropped Italy international Federico Chiesa. The 17-player limit on non-homegrown talent affected the winger, with the club opting to include a teenage prospect, Ngumoha, instead.

Newcastle United excluded former captain Jamaal Lascelles following defensive reinforcements. Tottenham Hotspur omitted Mathys Tel, Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Radu Dragusin, and Kota Takai, with several linked to injuries.

Elsewhere in Europe, Bayer Leverkusen left out Jonas Hofmann and Martin Terrier. Juventus omitted Arkadiusz Milik, while Napoli excluded Romelu Lukaku through injury.

Paris Saint-Germain did not register Presnel Kimpembe, who has been out for almost two years and is close to completing a move to Qatar. PSV Eindhoven omitted Alassane Plea.
Clubs were limited to 25 players in total, including minimum slots for homegrown and club-trained talent. UEFA rules allow for changes ahead of the knockout phase in January.
