Captain of Nigeria's Super Eagles B team Junior Nduka has expressed confidence that the team would bounce back in their second Group game of the CHAN 2024 after losing their opening game to defending champions Senegal.

Home-based Super Eagles captain, Junior Nduka, has reassured Nigerian fans that the team is primed to secure maximum points when they face Sudan in their second Group D match at the ongoing 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The squad, led by coach Eric Chelle, suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to defending champions Senegal in their opening game – a result that left them bottom of the group without a single point.

Although another defeat would confirm their early exit, Nduka believes the team has learned from their mistakes and is ready to respond positively. He stressed that the setback against Senegal has only strengthened their resolve.

A setback, not a disaster

Speaking to thenff.com, Nduka maintained an optimistic outlook ahead of Tuesday’s clash.

“We are taking it one game at a time, and Sudan is next. The last match was a setback, not a disaster. We have a point to prove, and we’re ready to correct our mistakes,” the skipper said confidently.

With both sides in need of a win to boost their quarter-final chances, the fixture at Amman Stadium in Zanzibar promises to be fiercely contested. The Super Eagles B will need to combine discipline with attacking sharpness to overcome a Sudanese side that also has much to fight for.

Must-win battle under the floodlights

Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nigerian time. Victory would not only lift Nigeria’s morale but also keep them in contention for a knockout spot going into the final group game.
