Founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has announced that he will step down from ministerial duties for one month following an ongoing public controversy involving actress Doris Ogala.

Okafor made the announcement during a church service, stating that the decision was taken to allow for calm, reflection, and spiritual realignment amid the escalating dispute.

He stressed that the move was aimed at restoring peace within the church and the wider public space.

NRTC had earlier reported on the face-off between Ogala and Okafor, including the actress’s arrest and subsequent release by the police in Lagos, as well as Okafor’s decision to kneel before his congregation to beg for forgiveness during a church service.

Reacting in a video shared on her Instagram page, Ogala rejected the pastor’s decision, insisting that stepping down for one month was not sufficient.

In the video, the actress alleged that Okafor poisoned her brother, a claim she has repeatedly made without presenting publicly verified evidence.

Ogala questioned what offence her brother allegedly committed, asking why he deserved such a fate.

She further stated in the video that she was “just getting started” with the pastor, signalling that the dispute was far from over.
