Chrisland School: Release details of how Whitney died, actresses’ urge school management

Nollywood actresses Mercy Johnson-Okojie and Iyabo Ojo have joined the bereaved mother of a 12-year-old Whitney Adeniran, to demand from the authorities of Chrisland International School, Opebi branch cause of her daughter’s death.

The deceased mother who cried out in a video, asking parents to join in her quest for answers from the authorities, stated that she needed closure over her daughter’s death, pleading with the school to reveal the absolute truth of how her child died.

In a video obtained by NRTC, she explained that her daughter was healthy before she went for the inter-house sport, saying her daughter couldn’t have suddenly slumped and died of cardiac arrest according to the school’s management claims.

Reacting to the video, the movie star, Mercy Johnson pleaded with the Chrisland school management to give the full disclosure of what exactly transpired and led to the girl’s death as demanded by her mother.

Johnson, who said she was responding to the cries of a mother going through the worst pain ever, said no parent deserves to go through such pain.

While commiserating with the family over the death of their first child, she informed the Chrisland school authorities that every concerned parent was awaiting their details of how Whitney died.

She wrote: “I’m responding to the cries of a mother going through the worst pain ever. A mother who wants to know how her child died so suddenly.

“No parent deserves this, no one. Since I saw this heartbreaking video this morning. I’ve called to plead with the school @chrislandinsta to do as Whitney’s mum has cried for and release the full details of what happened to her daughter. We are all waiting.

“My condolences to Whitney’s family. My prayers are with you.”

Similarly, actress Iyabo Ojo asked the Chrisland school management to come out and tell Whitney’s parents the truth about their daughter’s death.

Ojo who said the negligence of the Chrisland school is appalling, added that there is a WhatsApp audio circulating that Whitney died as a result of electrocution.

She added that for the Chrisland management to have gone ahead with the inter-house sport when one of their students just died reeks of a lack of empathy.

She further called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Nigerian Police Force to look into the matter as soon as possible.

Actress Iyabo Ojo wrote: “You need to come out & tell Whitney’s parents the truth about their daughter’s death. The negligence from your school is appalling. There is a whatsapp audio circulating that she died as a result of electrocution. Can you confirm or deny? Did you not vet the vendors at your event to make sure they came with child proof equipment?

“You knew the child was dead before sending her to a ‘health centre’ and sent the mother on a wild goose chase to look for her child without accompanying her. The actual audacity to be irresponsible.

“The fact that you went ahead with the event when one of your students just died reeks of a lack of empathy. @jidesanwoolu @nigerianpoliceforce Kindly look into this urgently.
