The Belgian didn’t shy away from expressing the “incredible” financial gain that comes with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Sources in the UK say De Bruyne’s representatives paid a visit to 10 Saudi clubs within three days in May. And now the playmaker has opened up about the temptation that comes with offers from the country.

De Bruyne said he had already discussed his future with his wife as his career is nearing its end.

“For Michele, an exotic adventure is OK. These are also conversations that we are increasingly having as a family,” De Bruyne told Belgian broadcaster VTM.

“I still have one year of contract, so I have to think about what can happen.

“My eldest [child] is now eight years old and knows nothing but England. He also asks how long I will play at City. Once the time comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way.

“At my age, you have to be open to everything. You talk about unbelievable amounts in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.”

Also, the 32-year-old said that if he spends two years in Saudi Arabia, he would be “able to earn an incredible amount of money.”

During the just concluded season, De Bruyne was sidelined for five months due to injury.

Despite his long injury spells, his charisma, leadership, and contributions when available helped City to their fourth successive league title. He played just 26 matches in all competitions.
