Commissioner of Police warns officers against indiscipline, seeks community support

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has issued strict warnings to officers under his command, stressing that there will be zero tolerance for misconduct or any behavior that could damage the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

Eribo issued the warning at the end of his familiarisation tour of police area commands across the state, urging all officers and constables to carry out their duties with discipline, professionalism, and respect for the people they serve, regardless of the situation.

While reaffirming the command’s commitment to effective and responsible policing, the Commissioner of Police called on residents and community stakeholders to partner with the police in the fight against crime.

He noted that public cooperation, particularly in sharing useful information, is vital to maintaining safety and order across Ekiti.

According to him, many individuals are reluctant to report criminal activity out of fear- a hesitation that allows criminals to operate freely and threatens the overall safety of communities.

His address comes amid ongoing efforts to deepen community policing and reinforce accountability within the Ekiti State Police Command.
