Manchester United flop Antony made an instant impact on his European debut for Real Betis as he scored a crucial goal in their 3-0 win over Gent.
With this commanding win, the Spanish side took a strong step toward sealing a place in the last 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The United loanee continued his impressive form with a brilliant low curling strike from the edge of the box. Not only did he open the scoring, but he also played a key role in Betis’ second goal by passing to Isco, who set up Cedric Bakambu for a close-range finish.

Antony rediscovering form at Betis?
Antony’s fine form for Betis was already evident before this match, as he had netted his first league goal on Saturday. Although Betis lost 3-2 to Celta Vigo, his performance in just his second game impressed the fans and his growing confidence and influence on the pitch was evident.
When the Red Devils signed Antony from Ajax in August 2022 for £81.3m, he became their second most expensive player after Paul Pogba. However, his performances in the Premier League have fallen short of expectations, with only one league goal since April 2023.
As the knockout rounds take shape, Betis remains one of four teams that could face Chelsea in the next stage. Alongside them, Gent, Copenhagen, and Heidenheim are also in contention.
For now, Betis are loving the contributions of their new man and Antony is definitely enjoying his time. His resurgence at Betis continues and with his latest display, he will only continue to strengthen his resolve. With the second leg approaching, Betis will look to maintain their dominance and secure passage to the last 16 in the tournament.
