Serie A club Napoli have named former Juventus and Chelsea gaffer Antonio Conte as their new manager.
Conte has not been in charge of any team since leaving Tottenham by mutual consent in March 2023. He had only been in charge for 16 months.
The Italian has one of the most decent records when compared with his other contemporaries. He won the Italian Serie thrice (between 2012 and 2014) with Juventus and claimed it with Inter Milan in 2021. It was the Nerazurri’s first league title in 11 years.
In his first season in the Premier League, Conte won the top-flight while in charge of Chelsea in 2016/17. He also guided the West London club to the FA Cup title a season later.

“Napoli is a place of global importance. I am happy and excited at the idea of sitting on the blue bench,” said Conte.
“I can certainly promise one thing, I will do my utmost for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, together with that of my staff, it will be total.”
Napoli won the 2022/23 league title – their first such in 33 years. They failed woefully in their bid to defend their title in 2023/24, finishing a disappointing 10th.
As a result of the poor season, the Napoli hierarchy appointed Francesco Calzona in February on a short-term contract. Sixty-two-year-old manager Walter Mazzarri had been dismissed after only three months of management.
Other Serie A appointments
Meanwhile, former Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano is now Bologna’s new manager. Thiago Motta, who brilliantly led Bologna to Champions League qualification, is expected to be announced Juventus boss anytime soon.
