Nollywood producer Martins Onyemobi has opened up about his experience working with veteran actor Nkem Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, describing him as a performer who puts maximum effort into every role he accepts.
Onyemobi in an interview with Nolly TV explained that working with Owoh requires a producer or director to know how to manage his strong improvisational style while still giving him enough room to express his creativity.
According to the producer, Owoh has a natural ability to expand a character beyond what is contained in the original script.

He noted that while this can add more entertainment to a production, the actor has to be properly guided to ensure that the story remains within the planned direction.
Onyemobi said Owoh becomes fully committed once he accepts a movie role and brings his experience, energy and creativity into the production.

He added that the actor can sometimes develop so much material around a character that a story initially planned for two parts could grow into several parts.
He said: “If you give Osuofia a movie script, all you need to do is control him. When you control him, you will get the best out of him. But if you allow him, he will talk from now till tomorrow.
“Once he agrees to do the job, he will give you everything he has. If the movie is supposed to be Part 1 and Part 2, Osuofia will end up giving you Part 1 all the way to Part 7.”
