The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that, starting in March 2025, Corps Members will receive an increased monthly allowance of N77,000.
Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, the NYSC Director-General, made this disclosure on Thursday while addressing Corps Members at the Wuse and Garki Zonal Offices of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja.
The increment follows the Federal Government’s decision to raise the allowance from N33,000 to N77,000, fulfilling a promise made six months ago. The approval was conveyed in a letter from the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by its Chairman, Mr. Ekpo Nta, in line with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.
A statement issued by the NYSC Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, reaffirmed the Scheme’s commitment to the welfare of Corps Members.
“General Nafiu, who thanked the Corps Members for their selfless service to the nation, advised them to remain calm, dedicated, focused, and disciplined.
