Cosmetic surgery has become one of the most discussed topics among Nigerian citizens, including the elites, socialites and the pedestrian on the street.

Some have described cosmetic surgery as evil, while others have dubbed it a form of a necessary methodology that must be adopted to accentuate one’s beauty and establish a sense of worthiness or a healthy self-esteem.

In this article, News Round The Clock (NRTC) would be disclosing what it means to go under the knife. We would be explaining to our readers the several aspects of cosmetic surgery.

According to medical platform, John Hopkins Medicine, Cosmetic plastic surgery is done to change your appearance.

For some, it may mean redesigning the body’s contour and shape, smoothing wrinkles, or eliminating balding areas. Others may choose varicose vein treatment or breast augmentation.

Breast implant removal is surgery to take out silicone or saline implants.

3. Buttock lift (also known as Brazilian Butt Lift)

These surgical treatments use soft and hard tissue grafts to increase the volume of available soft and hard tissue, allowing the implant to be placed securely and to achieve a more functional and aesthetic result.

This can be described as a type of cosmetic surgical operation to remove unwanted wrinkles by tightening the skin of the face.

6. Hair replacement or Transplantation

A hair transplant is a surgery that moves hair to bald or thinning areas of the scalp. Also called hair restoration or hair replacement.

7. Lip Augmentation

A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is cosmetic surgery to improve the shape of the tummy area (abdomen). It can involve removing excess loose skin, fat and stretch marks and tightening the abdominal muscles.

A vaginal rejuvenation consists of surgical and nonsurgical treatments that firm up the skin around your vagina or tighten the vaginal canal.

10. Botox injections

According to Mayo Clinic, Botox injections are shots that use a toxin to prevent a muscle from moving for a limited time.

These shots are often used to smooth wrinkles on the face.

They’re also used to treat neck spasms, sweating, overactive bladder, lazy eye and other conditions.
