Residents of Ijebu Ode in Ogun State will observe a midnight curfew for seven days as part of activities marking the annual Oro festival.
The curfew will start on Wednesday, July 30, and continue until Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Movement will be restricted daily between 12 midnight and 4 a.m.
The Local Government Chairman, Dare Alebiosu, announced the decision on Monday.
He said the curfew is necessary to allow the smooth running of traditional rites linked to the male-only festival, which often limits movement for women and those who are not part of the Oro cult.
People living in the area have been asked to remain indoors during the curfew hours and follow the rules to avoid problems.

The local government stressed that the curfew is for cultural observance and public safety.
Although the announcement made no direct connection, the curfew comes shortly after the death of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, who passed away on July 13 at the age of 91.
