Daniel Regha challenges traditional cooking norms as Alan Fisher breaks Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record

Renowned Nigerian Social Media Personality and Influencer, Daniel Regha, has commended Irish Chef, Alan Fisher for his remarkable achievement in setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Regha via his X (formerly Twitter) said Fisher’s achievement in breaking Baci’s record significantly serves as a testament to the idea that cooking is not limited to any gender.

He encouraged Nigerians to adopt the mature approach demonstrated by the Japanese and Irish, refraining from trolling Hilda during the attempt, in stark contrast to the unwarranted backlash that Lata Tondon received from Nigerians.

“Hilda Baci’s GWR has been broken by a man, but notice how no Japanese or Irish person was trolling Hilda when the attempt was being made; Nigerians should learn from that, cos y’all were so quick to attack Lata Tondon for nothing. Congrats to the new GWR holder Alan Fisher, he proves that cooking isn’t just for women alone, & that life is a marathon.”

Regha tweeted.

On Tuesday, the Guinness World Records declared that Fisher, hailing from Ireland, shattered Baci’s previous record by cooking for an astounding 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.

At the time of reporting, the Nigerian chef extended congratulations to Fisher for achieving the latest Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
