In the second part of the triptych interview session featuring foremost Nigerian social media commentator, Daniel Regha, he spoke about his ten favourite movies of 2023.
Daniel Regha sat down with a News Round The Clock (NRTC) reporter where he disclosed some of the most fascinating movies he came across during the year.

During the session, the renowned social media influencer who gained prominence at the turn of the 2020s disclosed some interesting series that have both enlightened and educated him.

“A lot of amazing, enlightening, and record breaking movies were produced and released this year,” Regha stated.
He went forward to state, “It’s impossible to watch/review them all, but these top 10 are the best out the movies I’ve watched this 2023.”
Further, Regha mentioned that these movies were selected predominantly due to the quality they possess.
He went on to state, “each of these movies was selected either based on the quality of production, great storyline, relatability, or emotional impact.”
“No-one movie can be a standout, but a few can dominate the list,” Regha concluded.
According to the social media influencer, he selected the movies due to their unique storylines and relatability of the lead characters.
He had this to say further, “the movies listed above, arenāt just action, love, and laughs, or with gun shooting scenes perfected with ridiculous jokes”.
In the concluding part, he stated, “each in their own ways tells a unique story with prominent characters and relatable conflicts”

- Worst of Evil (South Korean/K-Drama)
The Worst of Evil is a 2023 South Korean streaming television series starring Ji Chang-wook, Wi Ha-joon, Im Se-mi, and Bibi. It was released on Disney+ on September 27, 2023.
2. My Dearest (South Korean/k-Drama)
‘My Dearest’ concluded its 11-month journey with a ‘happy ending. ‘ The final episode of the highly acclaimed MBC drama aired on November 18.
Equally, this is a South Korean television drama.
3. Blue Eyed Samurai (French-American animation)
Blue Eye Samurai is a French-American adult animated action streaming television series created and written by husband and wife team Michael Green and Amber Noizumi.
On December 11, 2023, the series was renewed for a second season.
4. When Love Calls
When Love Calls is a Nigerian movie about relationship, romance and friendship.
5. Anselm Jemima (Nigeria)
A couple of days ago, Daniel Regha wrote about the sensitive subject matter, Anselm Jemima on his X account.
He wrote,
“Not many movies shed light on the challenges faced by women in today’s society; The short film “ANSELM JEMIMA” produced by @thedebbiemonnie touches a sensitive subject. It’s far from perfect, but it addresses the issues of gender discrimination, parental love, & trauma.”
6. The extraction 2 (Hollywood)
Extraction 2 is a 2023 American action thriller film directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Joe Russo.
7. The Witcher 3 (Hollywood)
The Witcher is a fantasy drama television series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix. It is based on the book series of the same name.
8. Jagun Jagun (Nollywood)
Netflix’s recently released film Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) is set in pre-colonial Nigeria and follows the story of a feared warlord named Ogunjimi. While playing out in the past, it is steeped in contemporary universal cultural, political and socio-economic realities.
9. Transplant (Medical series)
A talented doctor from Syria struggles to overcome personal and professional challenges in order to rebuild his medical career at a Toronto hospital.
10. Castle (Drama/Investigative series)
Castle is an American crime mystery/comedy-drama television series that aired on ABC for a total of eight seasons from March 9, 2009, to May 16, 2016.
