Nigerian music star, Davido, has shared the reason behind his decision to hold his music concert in Akwa Ibom State, saying the state’s world-class facilities made it his top choice as he kicks off his Nigerian tour for his fourth studio album, 5ive.
Speaking during a pre-concert event in Uyo, the award-winning singer commended the state’s beauty and the leadership of Governor Umo Eno. According to him, the peaceful environment and support for young people in the state stood out.
“When we were looking around Africa, five places came, and Akwa Ibom was at the top of the list. A lot of people are flying from other states that don’t have this type of facility,” he said.
Davido expressed delight at the overwhelming turnout for the concert, emphasizing that Akwa Ibom had set the right tone for the tour.
“You have a standard facility, that’s why we are starting here. As time goes, we will keep doing the other states and I am just excited the stadium is already filled up, so let’s get ready and shut it down,” he added.

The concert, which took place on October 18 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, marked the first stop on Davido’s 5ive tour across Nigeria as part of preparations for the festive “Detty December” season.
