Foremost Nigerian human rights advocate, Dele Farotimi, has been released from the correctional centre in Ekiti State after meeting his bail conditions.
The renowned human rights activist was released on Tuesday morning, December 24.
On Friday, Dec. 20, at a magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti, the state granted Farotimi bail conditions, including a N30 million bond, two sureties, one of whom must be a property owner, a submission of Farotimiās passport and a prohibition of Farotimi granting media interviews once released.

However, Farotimi spoke to the press after his release.
He stated that he has never told a lie against anyone in the course of his advocacy. He added that whatever he has said about someone or an institution is true.
This comes after he made some comments about Afe Babalola in his book, which resulted in his arrest.
The activist is facing a 14-count charge of alleged defamation. The police accused him of ācriminally defamingā Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Afe Babalola in his book, āNigeria and its Criminal Justice System.ā
Farotimi pleaded not guilty to all charges.
In a separate case before the Federal High Court in Ekiti, Farotimi faces 12 additional charges related to cybercrime, filed by the Inspector-General of Police.
He was previously granted ā¦50 million bail in that case, with one surety.
