The Kwara State Government, through the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding environmental laws and safeguarding the health of its citizens.
The government stated its readiness to employ all necessary measures to tackle environmental nuisances and maintain cleanliness across the state.
Hajia Folorunsho, the Acting General Manager of KWEPA, made this declaration during a routine enforcement exercise with the Shop Owners Association at Taiwo Oke, Ilorin.
Leading the KWEPA team in the exercise, she emphasised that the state government would not tolerate actions that could undermine the agency’s efforts to maintain environmental sanitation.
Folorunsho stressed that shop owners must comply with the state’s environmental regulations, warning that failure to do so would be met with strict enforcement measures.

She further urged shop owners to obtain waste bins with covers and register with government-approved waste consultants for proper waste evacuation, ensuring that waste from their businesses is disposed of at designated government-approved sites.
While commending the current administration’s achievements in fostering a clean and healthy environment, Folorunsho appealed to the shop owners for full cooperation in promoting a green and clean environment for the well-being of all.
She acknowledged the consistent efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration in prioritizing citizens’ safety and health.
“It is evident that the government, under the leadership of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has continuously prioritised the safety and well-being of the citizens.
“We must all do our part as responsible residents to support the governor’s initiatives and keep our environment clean, for our own good,” Folorunsho said.
