Popular TikTok content creator, Olumide Ogunsanwo, widely known as SeaKing, has been freed from police detention following his arrest over alleged cyberbullying of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

SeaKing’s release was confirmed by activist Omoyele Sowore, who had been vocal about the situation. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Sowore disclosed that he signed the administrative bail, which was agreed upon after rejecting an initial requirement for a Level 10 or 12 civil servant to stand as surety.

“We are pleased to confirm that Olumide Ogunsanwo @seaking303 has been released from @PoliceNG custody after our prompt rejection of the initial bail condition requiring a Level 12 or 10 civil servant, resulting in a swift agreement and release on administrative bail, signed by me,” Sowore wrote, sharing a photo of SeaKing smiling in a car.

The controversy began after comments made by SeaKing during a live session in December 2024 were deemed offensive. The situation took a new turn when Pastor Adeboye, while addressing worshippers at the February Holy Ghost Service in Simawa, Ogun State, called for SeaKing’s release, stating that the incident aligned with a prophecy about mockers becoming more emboldened.

“God told us at the beginning of this year that mockers will be more active, they would become bolder, even hot,” Adeboye said.

“I heard that there was someone who lambasted me thoroughly because I asked my people to fast and pray for 100 days. I did not ask him to fast. I was only talking to my children.

“I was told that some people are so angry and they went and arrested him. Release him! He is fulfilling prophecy.”

However, RCCG later distanced itself from Pastor Adeboye’s call for SeaKing’s release, emphasizing that due legal processes must be followed.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Office of the Principal Executive Assistant, RCCG Worldwide, the church clarified that Pastor Adeboye’s remarks were not meant to interfere with the ongoing investigation.

The statement, titled Clarification on the Ongoing Investigation Regarding Seaking303’, acknowledged that a formal complaint had been filed by the Concerned Christian Youth Forum on behalf of Fathers of Faith, which includes Pastor Adeboye. It stressed that the legal process should take its full course, considering the concerns raised about potentially defamatory content in earlier videos.

“Recently, a video has been circulating in which Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye appeared to call for the release of Seaking303. However, after carefully reviewing the situation and the concerns raised over potentially defamatory content in earlier videos, it has become necessary to allow the legal process to take its full course,” the church stated.

The church also warned against cyberbullying and offensive remarks targeting Pastor Adeboye, RCCG, and the Christian community at large, while reiterating the need for a fair and impartial investigation.

“Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye remains committed to love, reconciliation, and peace. However, the rule of law must be respected at all times,” the statement added.
