Kwara State has been ranked as the best-performing state in Nigeria for counterpart funding payment under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
The announcement was made on Monday in Abuja during the 8th RAAMP Implementation Support Mission, an event that evaluates statesā progress as part of preparations for the new year.
Reacting to the recognition, the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Abdulquawiy Olododo, described the ranking as a significant achievement for the state.
“This is a big win for our state. It reflects His Excellencyās commitment to equitable development. This award is a testament to his dedication to advancing our state,” he said.
The state received awards in two key categories: overall best in counterpart funding and overall best in disbursement.

“We won the award for the highest counterpart funding among the 19 participating states, meaning no other state contributed more to the programme than Kwara.
āAdditionally, we emerged as the top state in overall disbursement among the 13 states in our category, drawing the highest amount of funds from the World Bank and the French Development Bank,” Olododo explained.
He highlighted the tangible impact of these funds, noting that construction work is ongoing on 209.77km of roads across the state.
