It is no longer news that Paris St-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe has agreed to stay at the club for another three years.
Thus, he has turned down a move to Real Madrid for a lucrative new three-year deal with the French champions.
The 23-year-old 2018 World Cup winner, had been heavily linked with a move to Spain before now.

But there are some surprising revelations about this new deal. According to a La Liga Statement, the deal is “scandalous”. It also announced that it plans to file a complaint to Uefa and French and EU authorities.
“This type of agreement threatens the economic sustainability of European football,” read a La Liga statement. It added that it put “hundreds of thousands of jobs and sporting integrity at risk in the medium term, not only from European competitions but also from our domestic leagues”.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague had last month revealed that PSG offered Mbappe a 150m euro signing fee. This was in a bid to keep him for another two seasons.
According to reports, Mbappe had agreed a financial package with Real months ago for a potential switch to Spain before changing his mind.
Reacting to the new deal, Mbappe said he was “very happy” to stay at PSG after he and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi announced the striker’s new deal on Parc des Princes pitch before his side played Metz in their final Ligue 1 match of the season.
He then sealed it with a hattrick in the final game of the season, which the club won 5-0.
“I am convinced that here I can continue to grow within a club that gives itself all the means to perform at the highest level.
“I am also very happy to be able to continue playing in France, the country where I was born, grew up and flourished.”
Financial details of Mbappe’s new deal
According to Balague, Mbappe will be earning 100m Euros annually after-tax, which means 300m Euros for three years. He has also been given the power to have a say on new coaches, sporting directors, sales and signings.
The biggest of them all id the 300m Euros signing fees he earned from getting a new deal.
Mbappe began his PSG career when he joined the club on a season-long loan from Monaco in August 2017. He has helped them win four Ligue 1 titles in five seasons.
As he was about to become a free agent, the Qatari-owned side were desperate to keep him. They were prepared to offer the player a Ā£21m net annual salary.
He finished the season as Ligue 1’s leading scorer with 28 goals. He provided a further 17 assists in 35 games as PSG won the domestic title with four games to spare.
